Can you predict an earthquake? A seismologist explains
Not many people would have predicted that an earthquake would strike in the middle of the Bristol channel, but strike it did.
In fact yesterday afternoon's quake was the UK's biggest for a number of years, with a magnitude of 4.1.
While many people felt the tremor, no significant damage was reported.
To discuss what might have caused it, and how unusual it is, we were joined by Professor Peter Styles, a seismologist at Keele University.
