A mother whose teenage son racked up a four thousand pound credit card bill playing the video game FIFA 14 says there should be tighter controls on 'in-game' purchases. The 13-year-old had been buying things called 'Player Packs', which basically amount to online versions of pannini stickers. The boy's mum, Sue, told 5 live Breakfast's Rachel Burden she thinks children are being 'sucked into' buying these extras by gaming companies who don't care about the consequences. 5 live Breakfast contacted the company behind FIFA 14, EA Sports, who said they will not be commenting at this time.
