Planned changes to the probation service are too expensive, are being rushed through and are not likely to bring about any improvement, according to senior judge Richard Bray who has just retired after 30 years.
In Richard Bray's first week of retirement ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Northampton is broadcasting a rare interview the judge has given to reporter Elinor Cross detailing the problems he has seen within the criminal justice system.
Alongside Judge Bray’s comments, Stuart talks to Lesley Donoghue from the Probation Service, to Government Justice Minister Jeremy Wright, and to Peter from the North of Northamptonshire, who spent time on probation as part of his sentence following a conviction for causing death by dangerous driving.
