Matisse’s colourful cut-outs go on show
The French painter Henri Matisse was in his seventies when he turned to an entirely new kind of art. Cutting out coloured shapes from paper may sound like child's play - but a big new show at Tate Modern in London shows what can be done with an apparently simple technique. Our arts correspondent Vincent Dowd had a look.
