PM listeners' sounds: Twin-Cam Caterham 7 changing gear
This sound is from Sarah Blatchford in Crediton, in Devon. It is the sound of her husband's classic car, a Twin-Cam Caterham 7, first registered in 1985. The car is called Colin. Sarah says, "listen carefully and you'll hear the popping sound he makes when my husband changes gear. That noise makes us laugh, especially under a bridge when it makes passers-by jump. And the burble of the exhaust although we're only doing 20mph in this clip on a narrow country road (avoiding Devon potholes). And you'll hear the wind whistling around as we are exposed to every element as it's an open-top car. The best thing about the car isn't the sound he makes but the smiles we see as people see such a funny little car."
