Sgt Bergdahl 'deserted and should be court martialed'
As US politicians argue whether President Obama should have agreed a deal with the Taliban to free Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, one of his former colleagues said he was a deserter who should be court martialed.
The Afghan government reacted angrily to the deal, claiming it breaks international law.
Sergeant Bergdahl, who was held captive for nearly five years in Afghanistan, was released in exchange for five detainees from Guantanamo Bay.
Nathan Bethea served in the same Battalion as Sgt. Bergdahl when he disappeared from his base near the Pakistan border in 2009, and was part of the team searched for him.
He told Peter Allen on 5 live Drive that soldiers lost their lives during that search and claimed Sgt Bergdahl deserted and should be court martialed.
