800 years on, time for a new Magna Carta?
Eight-hundred years since the signing of the Magna Carta, there’s growing debate in the UK over whether it needs an overhaul of its constitutional framework. Does the country need a bill of rights, for example, similar to the one that exists in the US? The House of Commons constitutional reform committee is looking at the issue – MP Graham Allen chairs it. He explains why the Magna Carta was so important.
