Mother describes her son's Malia murder as 'senseless and brutal'
Tyrell Matthews-Burton was stabbed to death outside a bar in Malia on his 19th birthday in 2013 - his mother is now calling for tougher action to prevent a repeat of such an attack.
Speaking for the first time and exclusively to 5 live Breakfast, his mother - Sharon Matthews - describes his killing as senseless and brutal.
"We cannot continue to have this ongoing bloodshed. I want people to know [Tyrell's] death was senseless, unnecessary and brutal.
Nineteen British men have been charged in connection with Tyrell's death, mainly with affray. The case is expected to be heard in Crete later this year.
