What impact will a planned £50m cut to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ News have on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ World Service?
Following the announcement of almost £50m of cuts by ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ News a listener asks what impact these changes to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ journalism might have on the output of the World Service. The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½â€™s Director of News and Current Affairs James Harding explains to Rajan Datar that the World Service budget is increasing at a time when other parts of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ are being cut back. He outlines the significance of a new editorial position of Controller, World Service English. James Harding also explains what some of the changes are aiming to achieve by getting the Radio newsroom and World Service to work together and the thinking behind bringing to an end the programme World Have Your Say.
