The haunting story of a 90-year-old violin
Six years ago, a professional fiddle player bought a violin. It looked brand new, but a label on the inside told a different tale altogether – the violin was actually more than 90 years old. Its owner, Sam Sweeney, embarked on a journey to find out where this instrument had come from. It has since inspired him to write a show based on the life of the instrument and its creator, who was killed in the trenches of World War One.
