The CEO of Medical Aid for Palestinians says he has seen "terrible injuries" while coordinating doctor's in Gaza.

Tony Laurance told 5 live Breakfast "I saw a small girl with a bullet in her head and other injuries to her body. She's stationary, she's half paralysed with a sweet smile on her face. They're waiting for the swelling to diminish a bit so they can operate"

15 Doctors sent by the UK government are due to arrive in East Jerusalem to help those injured from the continuing conflict.

According to the UN, about 2,000 people have died in the conflict, which began on 8 July when Israel launched an operation to deter militant attacks from Gaza. Those killed include more than 1,900 Palestinians, mostly civilians. 67 people have died on the Israeli side, including three civilians.
