US actress Lauren Bacall dies at 89
Tributes have been paid to the Hollywood screen legend Lauren Bacall, who has died - reportedly of a stroke - at the age of 89. She was best known for films like the Big Sleep, How to Marry a Millionaire, and of course, teaching Humphrey Bogart how to whistle. Helen de Witt is the BFI’s Head of Cinemas.
