Alison Hewitt speaks of how her ex-partner sent her love letters from prison but also tried to hire a hitman to harm her.

Al Amin Dhalla was allowed in to the UK after he lied about his criminal record for a visa.

After their relationship ended in 2010, he stalked Alison and set her mother's house on fire. In 2012, he was convicted of arsen, theft, criminal damage and perverting the course of justice.

It was from his prison cell that he tried to hire a hitman for Alison. She says, "After the court case, when I thought that everything was over, I suddenly had a call from the police. They said 'you can't go home, you need to go and stay elsewhere'."

She says that although this attempt was intercepted, "the worry is there continuously."

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Office have paid £130,000 in compensation to Alison and her family for their error of allowing Al Amin Dhalla into the country.
