How to test a battery's power
A retired electrical engineer, Lee Hite, discovered that you can test a batteries life by dropping it on the floor to see if it will bounce.
He came up with the idea after having a discussion at lunch with his retired friends, so he thought he would test it out and post the results on YouTube as no one had done it before.
Mr Hite sawed an AA battery in half, realising that when the battery's elctrolyte hardens up, liquid lags behind and it will not bounce, meaning it is a good battery. 5 live's Adrian Chiles tested out the theory.
