Why have wasps been disappearing?
Picknickers may want to celebrate, but ecologists are concerned that wasps have been "vanishing".
The wasps are also reportedly smaller and "brown" in colour, something conservationists at the National Trust believe could be a result of poor weather.
Dean Godsell, manager of KPN Wasp Nest Removal said he had seen a 30% drop in the insects, causing a huge downturn in business.
"They just look unhealthy," he said. "There's hardly any in the actual colony".
