Michael Palin 'honoured' to be new Clangers narrator
Actor Michael Palin says he feels "honoured" at being chosen as the new narrator of iconic animated programme The Clangers.
The children's show, which started in 1969, starred pink, whistling creatures who lived under dustbin lids on a faraway planet.
Palin said he hoped to reproduce the way "time slowed down" when the show's original creator, Oliver Postgate, narrated.
The show, which is to be aired on CBeebies in Spring 2015, would feature more "sophisticated" versions of the knitted puppets, Palin added.
