Woman who woke up during surgery: 'I wasn't believed'
Research suggests more than 300 people in the UK and Ireland wake up during surgery every year - despite being under general anaesthetic.
Doctors from leading anaesthetic groups who carried out the research say these episodes are rare, with three million operations carried out in the two countries each year.
One woman recalled when she woke up during an operation when she was 12-years-old and wasn't believed when she told doctors about it afterwards.
