Budget cuts put care at risk
Cuts to social care are putting vulnerable people at risk, limiting the numbers who can access help and damaging the quality of care they can access, according to Margaret Hodge MP. The chair of the influential Public Accounts Committee told 5live Investigates government reforms were ambitious but would need better funding to achieve results. The government says it has given extra funding to social services including £3.9 billion as part of the Better Care Fund.
