Yaya Toure says racism is worse in football than tennis or rugby but why?

Yaya Toure’s return to Twitter this week was met by some with a torrent of racial abuse. He says if he played rugby or tennis he would not get anywhere near the same level of abuse. So is this a specific football problem and if so is enough being done to stop it?
