ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Office says race hate crime is up
There has been an increase in hate crime in England and Wales according to the latest figures published by the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Office.
Race hate crimes went up four per cent with around 37 thousand incidents last year. Another set of figures show there has also been a big jump in religious hate crime with over two thousand incidents last year, an increase of 45 per cent.
In this extract Tafazal Mohammad the co-ordinator for the Building Bridges project speaks to the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Leeds presenter Mussy Abbasi about how they are tackling the problem in West Yorkshire.
