Sunderland won their first Monday night game in 12 years against Crystal Palace with a 3 - 1 win at Selhurst Park.

The Black Cats went ahead in the first half with a goal from Steven Fletcher and despite an own goal from Wes Browne, Sunderland went on to win with a goal from a Jordi Gomez and a second from Fletcher.

They now sit 2 points above Crystal Palace and the relegation zone and only one place behind Hull on goal difference.
