Retired police officer survived collision with drink driver
Retired police officer, William Crowe, recalled a collision with a drink driver during his time in the force.
The fatal crash left both his colleague, who driving the police car, and the woman who was driving the other car who was "four times over the limit", dead.
Mr Crowe revealed that he still suffers from post traumatic stress from the collision, which happened in 1994.
It is 50 years since the first drink driving public information campaign was launched and at that point, records show over half of all male drivers and nearly two thirds of young male drivers were drink driving on a weekly basis. Today a government survey suggests 91% think drink driving is unacceptable.
