Former ESA director: Comet landing like watching 'birth'
A former director at the European Space Agency says the landing of the Philae probe on a comet was like watching a "birth".
David Southwood, former ESA director of space and robotic exploration, became involved with the project 20 years ago.
He said the landing was a "big step" for the world and an "incredible achievement" for everyone involved.
"It's like having a baby born... You've been waiting and suddenly everything is there in front of you. This is discovery."
