Children's Laureate: 'Remix Britain's best-loved books'
Malorie Blackman, Children's Laureate is calling on teenagers to remix some of Britain's best-loved books as part of a competition which aims to get young people to view literature in exciting ways. Twenty-four books have been chosen - including classics like Hound of the Baskervilles and Dracula, as well as contemporary novels like The Fault In Our Stars and Northern Lights. Phil's offering includes Joanna Lumley reading Pride and Prejudice, Simon Callow reading Animal Farm, and Tom Baker reading Great Expectations, to a backdrop of the Payback Mix by James Brown, Rob Base and DJ Ez Rock - It takes Two, Double Trouble and the Rebel MC - Street Tuff...with the very end sampled from Chad Jackson and Hear the Drummer Get Wicked.
