But 5 live's Stephen Nolan has been finding out that this character from Northern Ireland is really like, from his politics, finding himself signing on and flipping burgers at the side of the road, to leaving his wife, the woman he described as the love of his life, who used to beat him up.

He's told Stephen about the moment he found out his wife had died.
