England Women expected to have record crowd
England Women will take on Germany later in front of a record 55,000 people at Wembley.
The attendance had to be capped because of safety issues around engineering works on the London Underground – but it’s still 15,000 more than the men’s team’s September friendly against Norway.
Former Sunderland player and editor of women’s football magazine ‘She Kicks’ Jen O’Neill will be part of 5 live’s commentary team for the match.
She says the Olympics had a “massive impact” on the women’s game and ѿý coverage has helped it become “more visible”.
