Virtual Christmas Hamper Recipe Day 7 - Shepherd’s Delight sorbet
This is made with the vineyard’s award-winning Shepherd’s Delight medium rosé wine and is
the perfect antidote to heavy Christmas food. Light and refreshing it’s excellent year round.
175 ml water
140g caster sugar
½
stick cinnamon340ml Shepherd’s Delight rosé wine
1. Heat the water, sugar and cinnamon in a medium pan over a low heat, stirring to
dissolve the sugar completely. Remove from the heat and stir in the wine.
2. Cool to room temperature, remove the cinnamon stick and refrigerate until cold.
3. Transfer to an ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s
instructions. Because of the alcohol content the sorbet will be soft initially, but once
it’s been in the freezer for a few hours it will get to the right consistency
