Mum of murdered gamer 'found out from photos on social media'

The mother of a 14-year-old who was murdered by a man he met playing online games says she wants to make sure no other children are caught out by the "web of lies on the internet". Breck Bednar, from Surrey, was stabbed to death by 19 year old Lewis Daynes. Daynes, who has admitted murder and will be sentenced in January, groomed Breck Bendar for months on an online gaming forum.

Breck's mother Lorin Lafave told 5 live how her other children found out about their brother's death. She said: "Because of social media, before the police had a chance to tell their dad and he had a chance to tell the triplets and I didn't know yet either. The triplets received texts from friends at school because there were photographs sent of Breck...the fact was Breck was already dead in the photographs."
