Ryder Cup monster Ian Poulter remembers his first ever golf shot that almost finished a career before it had even started. Aged just five or six, Poulter hit a three wood on the 11th hole at Stevenage golf club.

"There were a couple of guys on the green in front on this short par three but I hit this three wood and hit it too good so we had to shout 'fore'. My dad decided to send me down to apologise for the shot I hit, I was mortified."
