What's life like being a transgender person?

We speak to transgender people who react to tragic death of a transgender teen, Leelah Alcorn. Leelah's story illustrates how transgender teens often feel alone and afraid.

Leelah Alcorn felt alone. Born male, she feared she would never be the woman she felt like inside. Her mental torment was exacerbated by her parents lack of understanding and dismissal of her need to be acknowledged as a female.
On a social media blog site scheduled to appear the day after her death, Leelah posted:-

..."The only way I will rest in peace is if one day transgender people aren't treated the way I was, they're treated like humans, with valid feelings and human rights....My death needs to mean something.."
Leelah's story is trending globally ‪#‎LeelahAlcorn‬ and illustrates how transgender teens often feel alone and afraid.

On the show we will be speaking to a group of transgender people for their reaction to this story.
