A Toronto man has found a woman with the same name as his ex-girlfriend to go on a round-the-world-trip with him.

Jordan Axani had booked the trip with his girlfriend before they split and the airline's strict no-transfer policy meant the ticket could only be used by a Canadian named Elizabeth Gallagher.

His month-long search for a travel companion ended when 23-year-old Elizabeth Quinn Gallagher contacted him.

He said "I didn't want a paid for and perfectly good ticket round the world to go to waste" and this was not a "romantic endeavour".
