Street light budget cuts cost me my brother
Five days after street lights were turned off to save money, 18 year-old Archie was hit by a taxi and killed.
Matilda Wellbelove said her brother had been walking home in an area in Warwickshire where the street lights were turned off when a taxi "didn't see him in time" and knocked him down.
The coroner investigating the case said that the turned-off street lights were "a factor" in the cause of his death.
Her story comes as 1.4 million streetlights have been dimmed or turned off around Britain to save money.
