Radio 4 Today presenters on urban slang 'bro' 'cus' and 'blud'
David Cameron has revealed in an interview that President Obama sometimes calls him "Bro", short for 'brother', indicating the closeness of their relationship.
The urban dictionary defines a bro as a young white American who identifies with hip hop culture.
Nihal Arthanayake, a presenter on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Asian Network, told Today: "It all depends on the context to why you're referring to someone as bro."
"Somebody, I think, who is very close to you, you would probably call brother instead of bro."
Peter Yorke, a social commentator, said: "I would only say bro with a very heavy sense of irony. It would be a completely ridiculous form of address for a white middle-class person like me."
John Humphrys revealed "My youngest son calls me blud"
