Documentary maker: "We knew he was ready to do something"
"We knew he was ready to do something" but did not think it would be an "attack in France" says documentary maker Magali Serre.
Ms Serre made a film in 2005 which featured then 22-year-old Cherif Kouachi, one of the two brothers named as suspects in the Charlie Hebdo attack.
She said "he wanted to go into Iraq" but was stopped by police on the border and subsequently served 18 months of a three year sentence in prison.
Anti-terrorism police have converged on an area near Villers-Cotterets where gunmen were reported by French media to have stolen food and petrol.
