20 years ago, Simon Rattle conducted his first ever Beethoven Symphony Cycle with the orchestra that he lead for 18 years, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. This year, Britain's most iconic conductor is 60, and to mark his birthday Radio 3 is broadcasting those recordings for the first time. 19-23 January.
