Young alcoholic shares his story with recovering alcoholic
John is 26-years-old and is an alcoholic. He called 5 live and spoke live on air with Leroy, one of the residents at a wet house, which is a residential home for alcoholics.
“You wake up in bushes, in other peoples houses, in the cells… it’s a horrible life,” said John.
Leroy is nearly 49 and has been drinking since he was 12-years-old. He’s been in and out of prison and is banned from every football ground in the country. Leroy now drinks one can a day and hopes to live more independently soon, alcohol free.
"If I wasn’t here now I would be in the grave yard with my Mum", he said.
