Actor who sent Deirdre to jail remembers Anne Kirkbride
Farewell to the "The Weatherfield One". Actor Owen Aaronovitch pays tribute to the Coronation Street star Anne Kirkbride who played Deirdre Barlow in the soap for forty two years
He portrayed conman Jon Lindsay whose deceit led to Deirdre's imprisonment and provoked a nationwide campaign to get her released - questions were even asked in Parliament about it.
