My wife gave birth but died three days later
Should dads be there at the birth? A study by University College London suggests that for some women, the presence of their loved one can intensify the pain of childbirth rather than relieve it.
A caller who wanted to be known as 'David' contacted 5 live's Your Call, he said that he was grateful he was there for his wife when giving birth to their son, as she died three days later.
David said: "The consequences of me not being there, not to have comforted her, the fear she might have gone through...it would have added more pressure on what I've gone through."
