Chief Constable: 'Give free heroin to drug addicts'
Heroin addicts should be given free drugs and allowed to take them in specially supervised rooms, according to one of the UK's top police officers. Mike Barton is the Chief Constable of Durham, he's spoken out in the past about the need for a different approach on the war on drugs. But now he's calling for free drugs for heroin users. He told 5 live's Stephen Nolan "what I'm advocating is treatment and recovery".
