"Sharleen Spiteri admits that Texas were invited to sing with Smokey Robinson for a performance at the Brits in 1998, but refused because 鈥渢hat鈥檚 what everyone expected us to do鈥�.

Instead, they asked Wu-Tang Clan鈥檚 Method Man to debut his rap part for 鈥楽ay What You Want鈥�.

Spiteri said the band had 鈥渏ust made the record with the Wu-Tang Clan鈥� and the collaboration 鈥渨ould be something really different for the Brits鈥�.
