
Spiteri: Texas chose Wu-Tang’s Method Man over Smoky Robinson
"Sharleen Spiteri admits that Texas were invited to sing with Smokey Robinson for a performance at the Brits in 1998, but refused because “that’s what everyone expected us to do”.
Instead, they asked Wu-Tang Clan’s Method Man to debut his rap part for ‘Say What You Want’.
Spiteri said the band had “just made the record with the Wu-Tang Clan” and the collaboration “would be something really different for the Brits”.
