Lubna and Khalil are trying to make sense of the world around them. After making friends at the beginning of the work, they spend most of their time playing games.

From afar these look like the simple games of pre-pubescent kids, but the reality is far more striking. The children are imitating the soldiers they have seen with their own eyes, emulating the brutality and acting out events they have experienced.
