Ever wondered why people become politicians?
These seven candidates all have different reasons for putting themselves forward, but all have the same goal: to win a seat in Parliament.
We asked Amanda Solloway (Conservative), Sarah Jones (Labour), Neil Gray (SNP), Paul Brothwood, (UKIP), Vikki Slade (Lib Dems), Mike Parker (Plaid Cymru) and Samantha Pancheri (Green) why they decided to stand for election.
