Hallelujah

Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' took him years to write. Recorded for his 'Various Positions' album, it was almost ignored when first released in 1984 but went on to be a global anthem covered by artists such as Bob Dylan, John Cale and Jeff Buckley. Cohen originally had as many as 80 verses, but what was his inspiration?
