Hi Five: Mark Ellen's vinyl classics
To mark 2015’s Record Store Day on April 18, one of Britain’s finest rock journalists invites ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Arts into his attic and selects five favourite records from his thousands-strong collection.
Ellen, whose career spans NME, Smash Hits, Q, Select and Mojo magazines, explains what his choices - including The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix – mean to him, and waxes lyrical on the magic of vinyl.
Ellen’s book Rock Stars Stole My Life! – tracking 50 years of Ellen's hopeless devotion to music - is out now. He appears at Glasgow’s Aye Write! Festival on 18 April 2015.
