Man 'ashamed' of being caught using phone whilst driving
Scott Wallace regularly used his phone whilst driving, before being sent on a road safety course which made him feel "ashamed", after being caught by police.
He said the images that were shown on the course "will never leave" him, as they made him feel "guilty" despite not having hurt anyone when driving.
5 live Daily has found that the number of people being issued with fixed penalty notices for using their phones behind the wheel is falling.
73,000 people were issued with fixed penalty notices by forces in England and Wales last year, which is down by 25%.
However, the number people being sent on road safety courses has risen by 53%.
Mr Wallace said he now has to lock his phone in his glove compartment, in order to stop himself from using his phone when behind the wheel.
