Nick Abendanon: More Englishmen should play in France
European player of the year Nick Abendanon would encourage more Englishmen to join him and play their club rugby in France, despite the RFU's policy not to pick players based overseas.
The Clermont Auvergne full back became the third Englishman in a row to scoop the award, following in the footsteps of Jonny Wilkinson (2013) and Steffon Armitage (2014).
He believes that playing in France would make his countrymen better players.
When asked if he would encourage more players to move from the Premiership to France he said: "I certainly would. It was an extremely difficult decision for me to leave Bath, but I haven't looked back once."
