From Serbian Soldier to Transgender Pioneer
After 20 years in the Serbian army, a soldier was sacked – after announcing he was having a sex change. The soldier, now known as Helena, has become a rare voice for Serbia's much-marginalised transgender community. And last month, she secured a rare victory after a Serbian human rights body ruled that the army had discriminated against her by ordering her resignation. She told us about her experiences.
