Judy was fifteen when the British landed on Jersey's south coast on 9 May 1945; Liberation Day.

She had grown up under the shadow of occupation, going to school where there was barely any paper or books, no heating, and in clothes which were threadbare as supplies ran out.

The big day for her started quietly鈥�
