Bangladeshi blogger Ananta Bijoy Das was murdered earlier today. The 32 year-old who wrote about liberal and secular issues for Mukto-Mona was attacked by masked men with machetes. He is said to have received death threats from Islamist extremists. Another Bangladeshi blogger and human rights activist Asif Mohiuddin, who was a friend, fled for Germany as he feared for his life. He told Newshour that he is trying to help several bloggers leave the country.
