Migrants Offered Temporary Shelter
Two countries offer Rohingya migrants temporary shelter. Campaigning almost over as Ireland votes on gay marriage. Airbag safety concerns force recall of 34 million cars.
Malaysia and Indonesia have agreed to offer temporary shelter to some 7,000 migrants stranded on boats off their coasts with dwindling food and water supplies. And, Voters in Ireland are about to decide whether gay marriage should be legal. The referendum on the issue is on Friday - and campaigners on both sides are trying to rally voters to their cause.
Thirty-four million cars are being recalled in the United States in the latest scare associated with airbags made by the Japanese company Takata. They have been blamed for at least five deaths. Some exploded with excessive force, hitting drivers and front-seat passengers with shards of metal. The recall is one of the largest in history and involves vehicles from 11 manufacturers including Honda, Toyota and Nissan.
